Day 9: HAVE ALL THE REASONS IN THE WORLD
Have all the reasons to fight for your dreams
Even though you have thousands of reasons to shatter your dreams, you still have millions of reasons to rebuild them. Why, because they are yours! No one can steal or destroy the dreams you have built without your permission. Take hold of what truly belongs to you and what matters to you no whatever it takes. They are yours for a reason.
Your dreams are your future. Dreams fuel your soul to do more, be more and excel more in what you do. They make you work hard and smart. They make your heart beats with inexplicable excitement and joy. Let every disappointments, failures or discouragements be your stepping stones in getting closer to your dreams. Allow yourself to feel those things so to keep you humble and wiser.
But how do you do that?
Faith without work is dead.
Turn your dreams into reality. You will know that you are fighting when you work hard to realize your dreams. Chase after them.
Have the will to wake up every morning doing the things that you do and who you do it for. Turning dreams into reality requires a lot of hard work, focus and discipline.
Be practical and realistic.
Timing is everything. Be realistic in achieving your life dreams or goals. Learn to prioritize. I am always reminded of what our discipleship mentor would tell us— keep the major, major and the minor, minor. Don’t major the minor and vice versa.
Give it to God.
Offer your dreams to the Lord. Know that he has a wonderful plan to each one of us (Jeremiah 29:11 says “For I know the plans I have for you, plan to prosper you and not to harm you, plan to give you hope and a future.”). Let us then commit our dreams, our plans and future to the one who holds our future. Let His wisdom guide you through reaching your dreams (“Proverbs 19:21 You can make many plans, but the LORD’s purpose will prevail.) Desire what he desires. Pray that He will bless and flourish the works of your hands
Arise, let us go from here. —John 14:31
Daydreaming about something in order to do it properly is right, but daydreaming about it when we should be doing it is wrong. In this passage, after having said these wonderful things to His disciples, we might have expected our Lord to tell them to go away and meditate over them all. But Jesus never allowed idle daydreaming. When our purpose is to seek God and to discover His will for us, daydreaming is right and acceptable. But when our inclination is to spend time daydreaming over what we have already been told to do, it is unacceptable and God’s blessing is never on it. God will take the initiative against this kind of daydreaming by prodding us to action. His instructions to us will be along the lines of this: “Don’t sit or stand there, just go!”
If we are quietly waiting before God after He has said to us, “Come aside by yourselves…” then that is meditation before Him to seek His will (Mark 6:31). Beware, however, of giving in to mere daydreaming once God has spoken. Allow Him to be the source of all your dreams, joys, and delights, and be careful to go and obey what He has said. If you are in love with someone, you don’t sit and daydream about that person all the time— you go and do something for him. That is what Jesus Christ expects us to do. Daydreaming after God has spoken is an indication that we do not trust Him.
Oddly Normal: A Poetry Collection
Sa kahit anong sulok mo man tingnan,
o subukang hanapin
kapiraso nang palaisipan na ayaw ko nang
Patunayan mong hindi ito ang katapusan
ng maraming posibilidad, agam-agam
at kahit anu mang alinlangan
Tingnan mo sa dakong hindi kayang isipin
o makita nang mga matang kaya kang linlangin
Saka mo lang maiintindihan ang ibig
Day 10: THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE
Speak the truth even when your voice is shaking.
Honesty is simple but can also be complicated. With a lot of pride and fear, you can never say a truth. Bury a lie with a lie gives birth to another lie and it goes on and on and on until you find yourself unable to move out from that misery. What you believe is true is actually a lie.
So speak the truth even when it hurts.
You will get hurt that will leave you scars after scars after scars but it will heal soon and you won’t have to worry about how once ugly they were. You will bleed but you will not die. But even if you do, you will live.
Speak the truth with faith
Believe in miracles. It works every time. It may not end the way you expected it but the way it has to be. Have faith that everything will be alright. You can hide all you want. You can lie all you want but you cannot never hide or trample the truth. You cannot hide a light even how partially shaded it is.
Speak the truth with strength and courage
Finally, give change a chance. Have the strength to pick yourself up and have the courage to move on and fight the good fight again – fair and honest.
You cannot go back to square one.
I have done so many things in my life that left me scars but I am not ashamed of them because my scars proved that I was tried and still trying. Some are beautiful scars but some are not, they are the reason of my brokenness and I am paying the price. But every time I see them I reassure myself of the possibility of new beginnings and seeing things with fresh eyes.
Do not be afraid and have courage. Be kind to yourself and speak life and positivity. It may be the miracle you are waiting for — to be able to speak the truth confidently and smile.
